(I have seen the client button change to JOIN before the host selected START, but only once). The host presses START and the client PC's READY button changes to JOIN (after a while).

Once in the staging area, clients do NOT press the READY button.

One PC selects HOST GAME, and the clients then select JOIN GAME to go to the staging area. OK - someone gave me the solution on another forum. Does the same with static or dynamic IPs.Д«y the way - our home network, as configured, works fine for all other internet and LAN games, including AoM and AoE III. All UPnP and related services enabled and started on all PCs. PCs are connected through an unmanaged switch.

We share disk 1 to start the game on our home network. I use Norton Internet Security firewall, but it does the same if it is disabled or enabled. I'm running an official game with an original CD (update 2.2 on all machines), all PCs have XP SP2, with Windows Firewall disabled. But when the game is started only the host launches the game.the other PCs show the green text saying that the host is ready, the red text saying that the game is starting, then the cyan text saying that the connection is initializing but.that's it (chat continues to work). The problem is that once I create a multiplayer LAN game and everyone's in the staging area, everyone looks OK (chat works, games are present, players can join, spped is great (all green bars). I read about this under another thread but I did not see a resoultion.
